DMC Charitable Foundation Awards $21,000 in Scholarships to Future Healthcare Professionals

DERRY, N.H. (June 2026) – The Derry Medical Center Charitable Foundation is proud to announce the recipients of its 2026 scholarship program, awarding scholarships to local high school seniors pursuing careers in medicine and the healing arts.

Each year, the Foundation recognizes exceptional students who have demonstrated academic achievement, leadership, and a commitment to serving others through a future career in healthcare. The award recipients represent local high schools where DMC Primary Care offices are located.

Since the scholarship program began in 2006, the DMC Charitable Foundation has awarded $224,000 in scholarships, reflecting the organization’s ongoing commitment to strengthening the future of healthcare in the communities it serves.

The scholarship program is coordinated by John Overton, who partners with guidance counselors at participating high schools to identify graduating seniors enrolled in accredited healthcare-related post-secondary programs.

“Every year, we’re inspired by the students who apply for these scholarships. Their compassion, academic achievement, and commitment to serving others give us great confidence in the future of healthcare. We are proud to help support these students as they begin the journey toward careers that will make a meaningful difference in the lives of their patients and communities,” said Overton.

Christine Hand, MD, President of the DMC Board of Directors, said supporting local students is an investment in the future of healthcare.

Dr. Hand adds, “Investing in students who are passionate about healthcare is one of the most meaningful ways we can give back to the communities we serve. These scholarships not only recognize academic excellence but also support the next generation of caregivers to help them pursue careers rooted in compassion, service, and excellence. We congratulate each recipient and look forward to seeing the positive impact they will have in the years ahead.”
