$15,000 in Scholarships Awarded by DMC Primary Care Charitable Foundation
High school seniors selected from Derry, Londonderry, Windham, Salem, and Bedford
June 23, 2021 – Derry, NH: The DMC Charitable Foundation recently awarded 15 separate $1,000 awards to local high school seniors who rank in the top 25% of their class and are pursuing careers in a medically-related profession. The students each submitted an essay entry to apply for the scholarship. In 2021, awards went to students of Pinkerton Academy in Derry, Londonderry High School, Windham High School, Salem High School and Bedford High School. DMC also awards the $1,000 Julie Vander Mark Memorial Scholarship to a high school senior in memory of a beloved DMC Physician Assistant who passed away in 2016.
“DMC is pleased to support the next generation of healers in our community and to recognize the academic success of these students,” said Christine Hand, MD, and DMC Board President. She continued, “Since its inception in 2006, The DMC Charitable Foundation Scholarship Program has donated $132,000 to at least 100 students pursuing careers in medically related fields.”

Applications for the DMC Charitable Foundation scholarship are available each spring from the guidance offices at each high school.
DMC Charitable Foundation Program Coordinator, John Overton, adds, “The DMC Charitable Foundation also supports local community libraries. In 2021, the DMC Charitable Foundation donated $1,000 each to Derry Public Library (Derry), Leach Library (Londonderry), Nesmith Library (Windham), and Bedford Public Library (Bedford) to support specific programs.
