July 22, 2022 – Derry, NH:  Last week, Derry Medical Center (DMC) Charitable Foundation awarded scholarships to fourteen local high school seniors who are pursuing careers in a medically-related profession and who also ranked in the top 25% of their class.

In 2022, $1,000 scholarship awards went to students from Pinkerton Academy in Derry, Londonderry High School, Windham High School, Salem High School and Bedford High School. One scholarship recipient also received a $1,000 Julie Vander Mark Memorial Scholarship which is awarded each year in memory of a beloved DMC Physician Assistant who passed away in 2016.

“Supporting the education of future medical professionals from the communities we serve is important to DMC and aligns with our core values as an organization.  We wish all of our award recipients the very best in their studies and encourage them to stay in touch with DMC for internships and potentially, careers as medical professionals,” said Christine Hand, MD, and DMC Board President.

“Since its inception in 2006, The DMC Charitable Foundation Scholarship Program has donated $147,000 to approximately 115 students pursuing careers in medically related fields,” stated Dr. Hand.
