Family Nurse Practitioner Erin Carding is no stranger to the Derry, New Hampshire area, but is a newcomer to DMC Primary Care. She said, “I was born in Pembroke and my husband and I just bought a house in Londonderry.”

Other than the familiar location, Carding chose to practice at Derry due to the ownership dynamic and the other providers. “I was very impressed with the organization and the providers that I met. I thought I could fit in with everybody. I was impressed by the team dynamic and how they approach high-quality care for their patients. I want to be a part of a place that works together well to get patients the care they need,” said Carding.

Carding is passionate about patient education. She said, “Education is my favorite part of the job. I like to take the time to educate patients on things they can do to stay healthy or get healthy. In particular, I enjoy working with teenagers. I like to teach preventative healthcare right off the bat, as well as addressing the issues they deal with on a day-to-day basis. My other areas of interest are women’s health and orthopedics.”

Carding has a lot to offer her patients thanks to her extensive nursing background. She said, “Prior to becoming a Nurse Practitioner I worked as a nurse in oncology, urgent care, and emergency. It gave me good experience on how to treat patients and family members in many different ways. I like to bring that into my practice. I really enjoy taking care of the whole person and family.”

In addition to her educational and professional background, Carding is full of professional drive. “I always push myself to know as much as I can. I try to go above and beyond to answer patient questions. I care about them,” said Carding.

Carding’s hope for her career at DMC Primary Care is that she will be a part of a collaborative environment. She said, “I’m hoping that there will be a lot of collaborating. Right now I work in a place where I’m alone a lot and I’m looking forward to being part of a team, and learning from different patient experiences.”

When she isn’t seeing patients, Carding, like many of our providers likes being outdoors. She said, “I definitely enjoy the activities that are available in our area, like kayaking and walking with our two dogs on the trails. We have a Husky and German Shepherd. I also love skiing, reading, and going to the movies.”

Carding will be starting work at DMC Primary Care at Windham effective July 24th. If you’d like to have her as your provider, you can book an appointment below.
