Getting vaccinated against the flu is one of the best things you can do for yourself and your family. Everyone from age 6 months and up should be protected from the serious health impact of having the flu. It’s best to have a flu vaccine in early fall so that you are protected before the flu becomes very widespread. (It takes two weeks for the full effects of the vaccine to take effect. Patients of Derry Medical may call ahead anytime during our open hours to ask for a flu vaccine, or call to schedule a quick 15-min visit during the week or any Saturday.
Of course, if you already have a scheduled appointment with your provider, just ask for the flu vaccine during your visit–including any family members who may be with you!
